Philosophy:

Gary started this journey 29 years ago when he started working in Williamson County schools as a summer program teacher.  Little did he know then at age 18 (eighteen) he would find the love for this field and it would grow. Gary always wanted a community- based early childhood program in his hometown which would provide quality services and strong foundation for the children in this area. Gary continued working in childcare and soon would work in the field of early childhood in his hometown. While in school as an Education major, Gary decided to open a group home childcare program. After2 ( two) years as a group home, Gary moved the program for expansion on Highway 46 in Bon Aqua. After expanding at that location and growing his business, he decided to build at a location closer to the public schools- all while providing and building more equipped
with a better design for his mission. Bon Aqua Daycare broke ground in the year 2000 at the current location on Hwy 100 in Lyles. Since the early beginnings, Gary has grown his family- 3 wonderful children: Brock (23), Cooper (20), and Hillary (16) who keeps him busy and happy. During those years Gary built a stronger philosophy on what he felt early childhood pedagogy should embrace. He opened The Learning Loft (Dickson) in the Spring of 2019 and Loblolly Preschool in the Spring of 2021 which will be expanding in size by double by Fall 2024.  Gary graduated from Fairview High School and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and an associates degree in Early childhood Education from Ashford University. In addition to the listed history above, Gary has been a long time football coach (which may be one of his most favored roles in life) and public school teacher.  Gary resides with his kids in Bon Aqua, Tennessee, with several dogs, a barn cat, goats, & chickens.
